First Division
Tripimeni 6 Cetinkaya Cinar 2
League leaders Tripimeni kept their winning run going with no points dropped so far this season but had a difficult first half with Cetinkaya Cinar and although they led after 9 minutes to a Leon Fisher header . The lead only lasted 11 minutes as a 40 yard screamer from Selcuk Ulug, totally surprised Tripimeni. In the 25 minute an unfortunate error by Hasan Ali in defence let in Alfie Bartram for 2-1. 11 minutes later, Cinar equalized, another beauty, as Salih Karakis lobbed the Tripimeni keeper from all of 40 yards, 2-2. Sloppy defending just before half time meant Tripimeni regained the lead, 3-2 with a goal from George Gregoriou.
10 minutes into the second half, Tripimeni went further ahead as Ahmet Rifat met a cross from a freekick 4-2. Cinar desperately pushed forward to get a goal, which enabled Tripimeni to score 2 more, the last goal right at the death. 6-2 the goals scored by Perdicou and Ahmet Rifat.
Rizokaropasso 7 Omonia 0
Rizokarpasso are having their best ever run in the first division still unbeaten and they mean business after an emphatic 7-0 win over Omonia. Rizokarpasso’s goals came from Ricardo 2, Harry Vazania2, Anthony Macdonald, Luke Kroll and Andre.
Rizokarpasso are setting themselves up for their big game versus League leaders Tripimeni next Sunday.
Olympia 0 Livadia 1
Livadia have had a good season I don’t know what expectations they had but they have settled and produced good results in the top league. Again Olympia produced a good performance theyre defence is sound but they are lacking in scoring goals but it won’t be long before they record their first win they have a young manager Chris Zacharia who is one for the future.
Olympia gave Livadia a tough game and it took an own goal in the 65th minute for Livadia to come out one nil winners.
Komi Kebir 0 Apoel 5
Apoel are still trying hard to keep track with the league leaders by defeating bottom of the table Komi Kebir 5-0 with their goals coming from Michael Spencer 2, Andre McCollins 2 and one from Murat Karagul. Apoel are now five points behind leaders Tripimeni but played one more game.
New Salamis versus Aradippou was called off due to their pitch not being playable.
Second Division
Anorthosis 0 Brotherhood 4
The top of the table clash between the second division leaders Brotherhood and second placed Anorthosis came out trumps for the Hood gaining maximum points and they did it in style by winning 4-0. Brotherhood have not dropped any points this season and are playing with enthusiasm.
Brotherhood were 3-0 up at half time with Paul Yiannakas scoring the first goal after a good team build up, the second a long distance shot from Mark Doyle and the third from an Aaron Kennedy header. The second half Anorthosis tried to get back into the game, they also had their striker Danny Coolridge sent off in the 70th minute. Brotherhood sealed their win with an 80th minute goal when a Paul Yiannakas free kick hit the post and Matt Krokatsis was there to bang the rebound straight into the back of the net.
Pendayia 0 Achna 2
Achna the surprise team of the year who finished bottom of the league last season are now gearing themselves up with a chance of promotion after beating Pendayia 2-0 helped with Anorthosis plus Arachne dropping points putting them in third place one point behind second placed Anorthosis with a game in hand. Achna’s goals were scored in the 40th minute by Justin Zacharia and Chris Bediako 75th minute.
Maronites 2 Arachne 2
Arachne will be disappointed with this draw as it does not help in their quest for promotion. Maronites is a team that can beat anyone in this division and I can see them having a big say on which team gets promoted.
Arachne led twice 1-0 then 2-1 and each time Maronites equalised late in each half. Arachne’s goals were scored by Damien Spyrou and Marcus Archer . Maronite’s goals were scored by Marcus Archer and Lewis Barclay.
Asha 1 Pantel 2
Pantel got the better of Asha winning 2-1 with their goals both coming from Alex Constantinou 25th and 35th minutes. Con Paliouras scored Asha’s goal in the 70th minute. Pantel are now in sixth position and Asha still to win a game this season.
