Join the UK’s favourite children’s presenters, Dick and Dom for the switching on of the Westfield Stratford City Christmas lights and celebrate the festive season a stone’s throw from the London Olympic Park.

The brand new shopping centre is making sure its first Christmas is a very memorable affair with plenty of glamour and jubilant fanfare to celebrate the switching on of the Westfield Stratford City Christmas lights. Along with a special appearance from Santa himself, Dick and Dom will be flicking the switch at the Stratford City shopping centre and casting the outdoor Chestnut Plaza in a festive glow.
Dancing display
The switching on ceremony of the Westfield Stratford City Christmas lights also includes an amazing display of dances, from Morris dancers to Bollywood, welcoming in the start of the festive season with a bright and colourful show. Expect plenty of noise too as 12 drummers and 11 bagpipers in traditional dress
will be taking to the streets at this free exciting event.
Procession highlights
Families are sure to enjoy this fantastic event, which includes an hour long procession with balloon costumes and swan ballerinas dotted among the many dancers. Also keep and eye out for Santa’s elves who’ll be giving out festive treats thoughout the parade, and if all that isn’t enough, you can enjoy some traditional christmas carols while your little ones get their faces painted.
Fireworks display
This magical evening of festive fun at the Westfield Stratford City Christmas lights switch on ends with a stunning fireworks display above the skies of the Olympic Park. You can expect plenty of noise and colour as the display lights up the night sky to welcome in the start of the festive season.
Christmas entertainment
In the weeks following the switching on ceremony, visitors can do their Christmas shopping under the glow of the festive lights display. Santa will be taking up residence at the shopping centre, so why not take the kids along to his special grotto to meet the jolly man
in person.
Westfield Stratford City Santas Grotto
The Westfield Stratford City Christmas lights are being switched on Saturday 16th November 2013. The procession runs from 5pm – 6pm. Admission is free
