Traffic officers continue to appeal for witnesses to a fatal collision in Enfield in the early hours of Saturday, 24 August.
Police were called shortly before 1:30hrs by London Ambulance Service to a road traffic collision in The Ridgeway, Enfield.
Officers attended and the driver of the car, a 24-year-old man – was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed.
Formal identification has taken place and the deceased is Adem Mehmet – aged 24, from Edgware.
A post mortem examination took place at Barnet Mortuary on 28 August and gave cause of death as a severe head injury.
An inquest will open and adjourn at Barnet Coroner’s Court on 29 August.
The Road Death Investigation Unit (RDIU) at Chadwell Heath Traffic Garage is conducting enquiries into the circumstances of the collision.
At this early stage it is believed that the car – a silver Toyota MR2 – collided with an out of service bus before ending up in a ditch.
There were no reports of any other persons injured.
