Stargazers will have the best opportunity to observe the Perseid meteor shower in Cyprus, on Monday evening, due to a moonless sky.
The shooting star display started on July 17 and will last until August 24, when it will reach its peak.
The Perseid shower occurs every year when the Earth passes through a wide stream of debris shed by the comet Swift-Tuttle, which orbits the Sun once every 130 years or so and last passed through the inner solar system in 1992.
