A MAN in his 20’s has died after a two vehicle crash on the A1(M).
The fatal collision took place in the early hours of Monday morning.
At just after 12.30am a blue Renault Clio travelling northbound collided with a red Citroen Saxo between the South Mimms and Hatfield junctions.
The driver of the Clio died as a result of his injuries.
Ambulance crews from Borehamwood, Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City, and an air ambulance, rushed to the scene.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “First and foremost our thoughts are with the man’s family at this tragic time.
“After extensive treatment by all the ambulance and medical staff at the scene, the man was pronounced dead shortly after.”
Herts Police is appealing for information.
Sergeant Richard Cruse, from the roads policing unit, said: “This was a tragic collision, where sadly a young man in his 20s has lost his life and we are determined to piece together the moments before the incident took place.
“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen this collision to come forward, or who may have seen either vehicle prior to call us.”
