Livingston’s latest signing Moussa Mampuya says he’s relishing the challenge of helping Livingston reach the top flight of Scottish football.
The 30-year-old attacking full-back was lured to Livi by assistant manager Mark Burchill, who was his team-mate at Cypriot side Enosis Neon.
He has played in the Dutch Eredivisie for VVV and Helmond Sport, as well as in Belgium and Cyprus- and can’t wait to get started in Scotland.
He told Courier Sport: “I am very pleased to sign for the club.
“I play at the back but I am an attacking player all the time.
“I hope the fans will like to see that.
“Mark told me that he wanted to become a coach and was getting the chance to in his home town.
“He said to me: ‘If you come here, we will create something great with the club.’
“He told me that the club should be in the Premier League and that he was going to do that.
“He said he had a good plan for the club and that if I wanted to be part of that, I was very welcome.
“I like challenges and it appears to be a very good challenge and I want to be part of that.”
Also fresh on the books at Almondvale is former under-19s Celtic and Bristol City Reserves centre-back Curtis Jones.
The 19-year-old is eager for first team football, and reckons it’s time for him to get his chance.
He said: “I can’t wait for pre-season to start and push on from there.
“I’ve learned a lot playing in the youth teams and I’m ready for first team football.
“The way Livingston play will really suit me — I like to get the ball down and play from the back.
“The way they play is the way they should, and it’s pleasing on the eye.”
Burton O’Brien has also put pen to paper, signing a two-year deal.
