Cyprus Football Association (CFA) Honorary President Marios Lefkaritis has been re-elected at the UEFA Executive Committee for another four-year term.
Lefkaritis was re-elected during the annual UEFA Congress, on Friday in London.
As there were only eight candidates for the eight available seats on the UEFA Executive Committee, the election took place by acclamation. Giancarlo Abete (ITA), Allan Hansen (DEN), František Laurinec (SVK), Marios N. Lefkaritis (CYP), Avraham Luzon (ISR), Michael van Praag (NED) were re-elected, while David Gill (ENG) and Wolfgang Niersbach (GER) were newly-elected for a four-year term.
According to CFA, this is Lefkaritis’ fourth term in office. He was elected for the first time in 1996 and then in 2000, 2004 and 2009
