Cypriot Aliki Chrysochou last nights Britain’s Got Talent show, with a pretty amazing performance of ‘Bring Me To Life’ by Evanescence.
The 29 year old music teacher revealed to the judges that she had overcome more than most people in her pursuit of a music career and told the panel that only a few years ago she was unable to even speak due to a serious illness.
The blonde beauty explained:
“I have been singing ever since I have been a little baby. I will do my best [to win]. I have a learned to fight through different circumstances I have been through.”
She added:
“A few years ago I was diagnosed with focal encephalitis, it’s an inflammation of the brain, which meant that I couldn’t speak, read, write, walk. My mum did everything for me, she would feed me, bathe me.”
However, Aliki amazed the panel when she performed a classical version of the well known rock tune. It was an amazing rendition and before the audition came to an end, the judges’ facial expressions revealed that they enjoyed the song immensely.
After the performance Amanda Holden said:
“I can’t imagine what your mum must be thinking, because that’s practically an anthem for her. The words bring me back to life, hear my voice. It was amazing, so congratulations.”
David Walliams said:
“When you came on I hoped your voice was as beautiful as how you look, and it was. It was incredible.”
Alesha Dixon gushed:
“You have inspired so many people, you will. I’m so glad you came here today.”
Simon Cowell continued:
“Well you just have a natural talent Aliki you know. That lyric was so poignant and
there’s something about your energy that is just incredible.”
Unsurprisingly all four judges gave Aliki a yes and she was passed on to the next round. After she left the stage, Simon admitted;
“There’s something special about her.”
