A Larnaca petrol station owner was struck on the head with an iron bar and robbed of his weekend takings by two men late Saturday night,
He had picked up the takings and was getting out of his car outside his Mazotos home when the attack took place.
He told police that he had between €50,000 and €100,000 on him when he was mugged.
The man, 62, received hospital treatment and was released.
Neighbours apprehended one man, a Romanian, and another is being sought.
